Super excited! Yesterday, Gary and I bought a kitchen table!! We picked it up from West Elm - they were having a sale on some of their chairs - and assembled it as soon as we got home. Now I can finally cook/prep while sitting down and watching the TV.
Funny how priorities shift as we continue to settle in. I still hate the 1980's chandelier in the dining room, but it still works. Functionality has taken priority to asthetics. So yes, I still have bed sheets hanging from the window, but at least I have a foot stool so I can reach the casserole dish! And as much as I want a new light in my closet, and a mirror in the living room, I'm glad we got 2 new faucets instead. Now I don't get sprayed when I turn on the kitchen tap.
Anyway - yesterday we shopped on King East and didn't end up buying a thing. Super, super expensive. The stuff was beautiful but completely overpriced. The only thing we DID want to buy was a couch from EQ3. But it was too big and we can't figure out how to fit it into our family room. I must admit, i'd give up some room in my house to make the family room bigger. I could live with a smaller living room. 4th bedroom.
But back to the couch - soo pretty and comfortable. And under $1000. It's scary how many couches are over $1000. Actually, on King East, it's scary how many CHAIRS are over $1000. Gary sat in one and freaked when he saw the price tag. One chair = $4000!! There was another couch I was afraid to sit in because it was $11,000!!
The search continues. Next week - the shops on castlefield.

Ohhhhh...but the $4,000 chair was so nice. And of course, I'd have to buy it's twin...
It is astonishing how expensive chairs and sofa's are. It's like sitting on a gold mine :P
