My sister came over on Monday and we spent over 3 hours trying on clothes, laughing at my fashion choices and finally - PURGING. I filled 2 big garbage bags of clothes, purses, and shoes for Goodwill. For her help, my sister scored 2 grocery bags of purses, pants, and tops.
Living with Gary has taught me how to look at purging in a new light. I used to only purge items that were damaged or that I didn't like anymore. Meaning, I rarely threw anything out. However, Gary purges things he doesn't wear/use anymore. Sounds simple, but it was hard to wrap my head around that concept.
I mean, give up my little twin star pjs?! They are still in perfect condition! I've had them for over 5 years! I bought them in HK with my Aunt! Admittedly, I haven't worn them once since I moved in 20 months ago.
So out went the twin star PJs, the brown purse from NYC, my boots from university (I am SUCH a hoarder), etc.
I feel much better. Lighter.
And now, I'm totally, totally in the mood to go shopping. :)
Leslie.
