It's been forever since I've last written - I've wanted to at work, but it's been crazy busy. I wanted to at home, but my cousin took the laptop to reformat/clean/or something like that.
A couple of things I've been meaning to blog about, that don't relate to each other at all.. so here we go:
-It was so bizarre when I first returned from my vacation and started working again. Because I had jet lag, I felt slow and very removed from the whole situation. Tasks that I usually would regard as requiring urgent attention seemed a little.. silly (for lack of a better word). Like, I would realize I needed to write a copy deck and send to the translators. Normally, in the situation I was in, I'd make a top priority and do it right away - but I started thinking.. it's just a copy deck. Would it really matter if it was done tomorrow? It started to make me question everything.. why am I sound wound up about all these little things? Does all this even matter?
Of course, it's been 3 weeks since I've returned and now I'm back in the thick of things. Which means I'm back to worrying if the bubbles on the latest artwork is red enough and not too orange. It's probably not good that I wake up wondering if I invoiced the random proofs, but at the same time.. I'm loving work again. :) It's crazy, it's busy, I need more help - but I love the stuff I'm doing (well, except updating copy decks. i can't wait until we hire another girl for my team).
-I went to the Boy's house for Easter dinner and ended up watching a bunch of kid shows with his nieces. The one that I thought was sooo cool was a spin off of Dora the Explorer. Her name was something like, Carly-Ann? Anyway, Dora is a character that goes on little adventures with her animal friends and speaks both Spanish and English. Being a show from the US, that makes sense. This Carly-Ann girl didn't speak English and French.. she spoke MANDARIN and English!! She had a grandfather whom she called, 'yea-yeah'. She had a bunch of animal friends that included a panda and a tiger. She would utter phrases like, 'ai ya!' and 'tai ho la' (very good). It was awesome. I wonder if that was made in the US or Canada?
-I've decided to sign up for a 10K running clinic. It's great because it stared at the end of March (I missed the first meeting because of a work function) and ends May 29. At the end of the training, we will run a 10K mid-June to help raise money for breast cancer. I joined this running clinic for 3 main reasons:
1) The Run for Cancer is a great charity
2) I want to be more active and get in better shape
3) My wedding dress will be ready in June and I need to trim down for the alterations!! :)
I joined this clinic assuming we'd all be beginners. Last summer when J and I were running outside once a week, we could run 5K easily. However, as the weather got colder, we've been just working out indoors (mainly weight training) and running 3K on the treadmill. So I really need to get into gear. Because at the first meeting (I attended the lecture, but left and did not join the run), I realized exactly what I got myself into. He asked at the meeting who had run 10K before. Some raised their hands. He asked who joined the 5K running clinic. More people raised their hands. Then he said, 'and everyone here can run for 30 minutes steady.' It wasn't even a question??!! Or it was a retorical one. Because everyone was nodding their agreement. Um.. I CANNOT run 30mins straight. So for the past week, I've been training so I don't look like an idiot on my Thursday run. Because we are doing 6K that night!! With breaks, but 6K nonetheless. Yesterday I ran 4.5K on the treadmill. Ai ya.
I'll let you guys know after my run on Thursday how I did. :)
Wish me luk!

Good luck on the run!
