All that for a pair of shoes!

I am big fan of shoes. While I've never spent over $250 for a pair, I will spend lots and lots of time searching numerous stores for a coveted pair in my size. I remember in London (UK), I must have dragged my poor family into every shoe store looking for a pair of sandals I saw someone on the street wearing. When I saw another girl wearing them again, my father actually stopped them and asked where they bought them (I think he was sick of shoes stores by then).

But I'll tell you one thing: I will NEVER stand in line for 34 hours, in the freezing cold, for a pair of shoes. Yet my cousin did just that. I love him to death but he is CRAZY!! It's frickin' MINUS 18 outside!! He stood in line at midnight Wednesday, for shoes on sale at 10am Friday.

Granted, these aren't just any pair of shoes - they are limited edition. Only 500 pairs made, only 46 are sold in Canada. 23 in Toronto. You've heard of Air Jordans? Well, they've made 22 different Air Jordan shoes so far. This is the last pair in the line (23, because he was number 23 in the NBA). So of course they are highly coveted. Eventually, they will mass produce another shoe that looks similar to this collector's edition for everyone else.

Anyway, my cousin risked his toes, but eventually was the third person in Toronto to get his shoes. CRAZY!

If you were a student and didn't have to work Thursday and Friday - Would you line up and do the same?
NOTE: He paid $300 for these shoes but they are selling for $900 - $1200 on eBay.
