It's been a busy weekend with lots and lots of Luks! My family from VanTown flew in on Friday night and since then it's been dinners, shopping trips and plenty of, 'do you remember..?' And I loved every second of it!
Especially when we all burst into a restaurant and take up 2 or 3 tables. Travelling around with 17 people is also loud and fun. :) Though it takes some co-ordination as it takes 4 cars to go anywhere (thank goodness my dad rented a van!).
There's just something wonderful about hanging out with your family. We're all so different, and of course, we do get on each other's nerves a little, but there's that feeling of closeness that you can only get with family. Even though I haven't hung out with these uncles and cousin in almost 10 years, we're immediately comfortable with eachother. And that's amazing. No awkwardness, no, 'what the hell are we going to talk about? we have nothing in common.' It's all good and it feels like they never left. Hanging out with them this weekend, it kinda feels like Christmas - except without the stockings and candy canes.
They're leaving for NYC this week, and I cannot wait for the weekend!
