The Boy and i went to ocean park the other day and it was fun!! since it is 'winter' and a thursday morning, there was no one there at all. it's like a little amusement park that is on many levels up a mountain. so cool. we saw the otters and some really, really cool jelly fish. that section was much cooler than shedd's because it was a whole building on just jelly fish! i took 17 photos. i will delete most of them and no, you do not have to see them all. :)
total disappointment though was the shark building. on the internet it has a photo of you going in a tunnel under a big shark tank link in sea world. um.. the 'tunnel' is about 10 feet long. huh. sucky.
also sucky was the 'coca-cola concept store'. it sold NOTHING coca-cola branded. it was just some big statues in front of the ocean park souvenir store!! very upsetting.
BUT we did see the coral reefs which was the best! who cares about the reefs? i cared about this gi-normous aquarium that had fish so big it was like a whole bunch of my europe backpacks were floating by. there was a sting ray in there with a wing span bigger than my arm span!! loved it.
also went on a tame roller coaster about the same as the 'ghoster coaster'. so the hills were fun, but not too big. HOWEVER, because this was on the side of a mountain, cliff, i had a heart attack everytime the coaster would make a turn and you're kindof of lopsided. like we were going to fall out of the cart and into the water!! oh my - i was shaking!!
also made me really scared was the cable car. this thing is NOT big. it looks like something you'd take up mt. tremblant! it's small and kind of shaped like an apple. not very sturdy, no seat belts, no big bar across the door. and yet the car is going OVER The mountains and down them to the lower part of the park. i seriously didn't know i could be so scared of this stuff. and yet i was. sooo rickety. yee!
anyway, that was ocean's park. oh, forgot to tell you about the pandas! but i'll just post pictures later. too bad i didnt' get one of the panda that fell out off the tree (it was about 2 feet off the ground, so he wasn't hurt) but i was laughing.
