My mom, sister and I went wedding dress shopping last weekend at Beckers. Originally, I had wanted to hit the Dress Room, but we couldn't make it for 1pm and all the rooms were booked by the time we got there at 3:30pm.
Anyway, I was really excited about shopping with my family because they've never seen me in a wedding dress. And of course I couldn't wait to see their faces when I first stepped out in my first dress. I admit, I expected a few tears. But I should have realized, I don't have a typical mother. :)
I came out wearing a very simple, traditional dress. My sister began gushing right away. My mother walked around me and then told me that she thought this dress made my bum look big! That's my mom - brutally honest! :)
But in the end, there were some tears. There was one dress that looked very similar to one of the dresses I liked in the Dress Room, and when I wore that with a veil, my mom teared up. She's so funny. But I admit, I do like the honesty - I don't want people to think I have a big bum on my wedding day!!
