I cannot believe that we've finally managed to book a venue and confirm a date: September 20, 2008! That's over a year's notice, so you all better be there! When I was talking to one of the planners at a hall I looked at, she told me that nowadays, only 4% of the people you invite will not attend. So that means our guest list still sits around 170. Which is managable. The venue we booked holds 200, even with a dance floor. Yay!
The other thing I've been waiting to do, and will finally get a chance this weekend, is Dress Shopping! I don't know exactly what to expect, but I hope it's gonna be fun! I wonder how I'll fell when I first put on the dress? Hmm.. I'm going to make sure to do my hair that day. I want to look pretty, even though it's just for a fitting (is it just me, or when you're looking crappy with a bad hair day, you never want to go shopping? everything ends up looking blah).
Also, we have a meeting with the videographer next week. I really like this guy who did my friends wedding a couple of years ago. However, I'm not too sure about the photographer. I don't really want a lot of cheesy shots. A few posed is okay, but I want more in the moment, spontaneous shots. There's a chickee that's awesome, but she's not associated with the videographer's company. Hmm.. hopefully we'll see more photographer portfolios when we get there.
And finally - wedding colours. We're thinking purple and yellow. I told my buddy at work about this, and the next thing I know, she's shoved the pantone book at me and directed me to go through it and find the exact shades I want. LOL. She's very excited about this all because she's designing the wedding invites! Next week we're going to a press in downtown to see all the different things they can do. Very exciting. And very geeky of me to be so excited about stock, foiling, and hand presses. :)
And I think that's it for now. So exciting (at least it is for me)!! I think for the next little while, all my blog posts will be about the big day and it's prep. :)

Purple and yellow remind me of pansies! :)
Congratulations on getting it together so quickly!
Ahhh..the wedding prep.. For me it was fun, I can understand how for some is stressful, but picking the colours, and doing this and that.. enjoy it while it last. Take pictures of you two as you move along with the wedding prep.
